The Nintendo Switch may not be blessed with powerful hardware, but its potential can be unleashed through overclocking. A YouTube user, Naga, conducted a test on L4T Ubuntu, maximizing the Tegra X1 and memory speeds. This boost led to impressive results in Membench, Cuda95, and Geekbench 6. Even more impressive was the ability to run Dolphin GameCube/Wii emulators at 1440p resolution with playable frame rates in Mario Kart Wii.

Other tests demonstrated that an overclocked Switch with 8GB of RAM could run The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom at speeds above 60 FPS in native resolution and 30 FPS at 1440p. If rumors are true, the next Switch iteration could boast modern games with remarkable performance and graphics quality, thanks to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and NVIDIA DLSS support. However, it will still fall short of the Steam Deck's capabilities.
