In 2012, the northern region of Marseilles experienced the highest crime rates in all of France. Under intense pressure from their superiors, the BAC Nord Police Department made a concerted effort to revamp their operational methods. However, in high-risk areas, they often found themselves being forced to push the boundaries of the law. As time went on, however, the legal landscape began to shift against them, setting off a chain of events that would forever change their approach to policing.
