The recent sales data from German online retailer MindFactory seems to suggest that AMD has sold in excess of 10 times more processors than Intel. However, this figure is not entirely accurate and should be taken with a grain of salt.
To begin with, Germany has historically been a stronghold for AMD, with a significant proportion of consumers opting for AMD processors over Intel's offering. Additionally, MindFactory is a retailer that is known to cater more to AMD enthusiasts, which may skew the sales figures.
Furthermore, the sales data does not account for sales of pre-built computers and workstations, as well as corporate orders.
Lastly, the strong sales figures for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which was launched recently, have also contributed to the impressive sales numbers.
As such, it is unlikely that Intel's sales are as dismal as suggested by the MindFactory data. Instead, this is a worrying sign for Intel, indicating that they may need to reassess their strategy and improve their products to compete with AMD.
