OpenAI has announced an advanced vocal mode for ChatGPT, which now boasts visual capabilities, enabling real-time video understanding. Users can engage in interactive conversations via their smartphone camera or screen sharing. This feature is initially available to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers, but is currently not accessible in the European Union. The advanced vocal mode's visual functionality allows users to analyze and receive explanations or guidance on objects captured by their smartphone cameras or on their screens. Although the feature has been found to have hallucination problems, OpenAI assures that it will be rolled out to all users within the next week and plans to make it available for Enterprise and Education users by January of next year.
