This article discusses the results of testing various network devices and setups to determine the factors that affect internet speed and bandwidth. A public server with a 1Gbps public IP was used as the test environment, and a virtual machine was used to simulate a client device. The client device was connected to the public server through various network interfaces, including Intel, RealTek, and VMware, and the upload speed was measured in each case. The results showed that the Intel network interface had the highest upload speed, while the RealTek network interface had the slowest upload speed. The VMware network interface had a moderate upload speed. The article also notes that the upload speed varied significantly between Windows and Ubuntu operating systems, and that the use of a hardware router can increase the upload speed by a significant amount. The article concludes that the results suggest that the use of certain network devices and configurations can have a significant impact on internet speed and bandwidth.
