The National Immigration Administration announced on December 17 that it will fully relax and optimize the visa-free transit policy. Starting from December 17, overlanders from 54 countries, including Russia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada, can enjoy visa-free transit in China for up to 240 hours (10 days), an increase from the previous 72-hour and 144-hour exemptions. Additionally, 21 new entry and exit ports will be added to the current list of open ports, and the accessible region for overlanders will be expanded.

The new policy allows eligible travelers to enter China through any of the 60 open ports in 24 provinces (cities and districts) and transit to a third country (region) without a visa. This move is expected to further boost tourism and economic growth in these regions.
