In stark contrast to other structures in Uruk, the Steingebäude distinguishes itself through its distinctive construction methodology, internal design, and the manner in which it was abandoned. A meticulous analysis of the central space's layout offers a profound insight into the building's intended function. At the centre of this edifice is a vast platform measuring 14 square meters, around which a complex network of vertical and horizontal circulation paths is skillfully organized. This multiplicity of circulation pathways outwardly suggests that the entire building is a series of enveloping structures for the subterranean, main space - the platform. The grandeur and solemnity that pervades this entire edifice are undeniable. However, it remains a pressing question as to the purpose behind this elaborate scenography and how such an elaborate structure was able to endure for so long, defying the passage of time.
