On December 7, 2024, the New Zealand Chinese Community Charitable Trust (NZCCT) organized a charity lunch event, which was held at the Auckland community center. The event was attended by nearly 50 guests and community members, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the elderly.
The event was particularly focused on building a meaningful social experience for the elderly, with a range of cultural and artistic performances, a carefully prepared charity lunch, and interactive activities. The charity lunch event aimed to raise awareness and funds for the elderly members of the community.
The Auckland Harmonious Choir, led by conductor Zhang Man, showcased their majestic performances, including ‘The Lonely Shepherd’, ‘Pokarekare Ana’, and ‘The Friendship Song’. The powerful duet, ‘My Sunshine’, was a highlight of the evening, captivating the audience with its moving melody.
NZCCT, founded by Chairperson Ms. Liang Wei Hong in 2017, has been providing support to the elderly through various community programs and events. The organization places a strong emphasis on creating a supportive community for the elderly, fostering opportunities for social interaction and cultural exchange.
The sponsors and partners of the event included New Zealand Tongshan Pharmacy, Everest Coffee Company, Devonport New World Supermarket, and an anonymous donor. Media representatives from the Huaren Times were also in attendance, providing extensive media coverage for the event.
The highlight of the evening was the charity auction, where a number of prizes were donated by the sponsors. The MC skillfully managed the evening's events, while the participants enthusiastically participated in the auction, with some even bidding on items they had not anticipated.
