Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu met with New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Wagner in Wellington on December 17. Ma stated that China is willing to implement important consensus reached by the two countries' leaders, deepen political mutual trust, promote practical cooperation, and promote the healthy and stable development of the China-New Zealand comprehensive strategic partnership. Peters emphasized that New Zealand attaches great importance to its relations with China and is willing to take the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-New Zealand comprehensive strategic partnership to strengthen exchanges and dialogue with China, and promote the development of relations between the two countries. On the same day, Ma and Wang Xiaolong, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand, jointly hosted a China-New Zealand foreign policy consultation, exchanging in-depth views on China-New Zealand relations and relevant international and regional issues. Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand Wang Xiaodong also participated in the event.
