After 7 years of development, a new rpm package called `sq` version 1.0 for managing OpenPGP artifacts has been created by the maintainers of open project, called Sequoia. The `sq` toolset, written in Rust, and released under the GPLv2+, is notable for being the first stable release from the Sequence PGP project, signifying that the code base has been stabilized and no further breaking changes will be made. This toolset has been included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 as an alternative to the GnuPG tools. It is also used for working with PGP in packaging managers DNF and RPM. It is worth noting that users who want to use Sequoia components with the APT package manager will have access to an experimental default configuration of `sq` for PGP operations.
