On December 13, Auckland Mayor Phil Goff hosted a reception for a delegation from China, led by Consul General Chen and accompanied by over 60 diplomats from various countries. In his opening remarks, Mayor Goff expressed his gratitude to the delegation for their efforts in promoting bilateral cooperation and social development in Auckland.
He also shared his positive experiences from a recent visit to China and encouraged the delegation to support Auckland's efforts in strengthening international connectivity and practical cooperation. Mayor Goff even took the stage to play a Chinese zither and joined his team in singing a traditional Maori song, 'Come Let Us Walk Together'.
During the reception, Consul General Chen engaged in warm exchanges with Mayor Goff and the diplomats, discussing opportunities for cooperation in the region and exchanging ideas on promoting cultural exchange.
