According to a recent report, the global app downloads declined by 2.3% in 2024, reaching a total of nearly 11 billion times. However, consumer spending on apps and games increased to $127 billion, registering a growth rate of 15.7% over the previous year. The Apple App Store performed exceptionally well, with a growth rate of 24% and a revenue of $91.6 billion. On the other hand, the Google Play Store experienced a decline of 1.5%. Subscription-based models have been a key driver of revenue growth, with 48% of the total revenue coming from just 5% of apps. TikTok emerged as the top-grossing app globally, with an estimated revenue of $2.5 billion.
