GitLab has announced that it will automatically terminate accounts located in the mainland of China, Hong Kong, and Macau after 60 days. If you have used your account in one of these regions, you will receive a notification. Initially, users thought it was a team repository issue, but it was later found to affect personal accounts.
To resolve this issue, you need to log in from outside these regions. It has been tested that logging in from a Japanese Azure IP address will eliminate the notification.
The exact method for calculating the 60-day period is unknown, and it is also unclear whether unactivated accounts will receive similar notifications. There is currently no email notification system in place.
