Apple is reportedly developing a smart doorbell and lock system that will support Face ID functionality, allowing users to unlock the door with their face. The doorbell device will be able to connect wirelessly to third-party locks that support HomeKit, and Apple may also partner with other brands to offer integrated solutions.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the product is expected to be released as early as 2026. Apple is planning to equip the device with a custom Wi-Fi chip that has a Secure Enclave to ensure user data security. This move will be an important step in Apple's expansion into the smart home market.
