EsSalud, Peru's social health insurance, is investing over 5.37 billion soles to build a modern specialized hospital in Cajamarquilla. The hospital, expected to be completed by December 2024, will serve over 263,000 insured individuals in the region.

The hospital's executive director, Dr. Maria Aguilar del Aguilar, announced the project during her working visit to Cajamarquilla. She supervised the construction of the hospital's infrastructure, which covers an area of 53,165 square meters and is currently 55% complete.

The modern hospital will have nine levels, including seven floors and two underground floors. It will be equipped with high-end equipment, such as CT scanners, mammography machines, and MRI machines. The hospital will also have an efficient energy system, using solar panels.

The hospital will provide over 15 services, including outpatient clinics, emergency services, inpatient care, operating rooms, a central sterilization unit, and a multicraft room for obstetrics and gynecology. Additionally, it will have intensive care units, intermediate care units, neonatal care, physical medicine, and clinical pathology.

The hospital will also have facilities for blood transfusions, hemodialysis, and anatomic pathology. According to Dr. Aguilar del Aguilar, the hospital will be a reference hospital, offering advanced medical services to the residents of Cajamarquilla and surrounding areas. The staff is already undergoing training to operate the hospital's new equipment.
