ASML, the leading manufacturer of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, has surprises its customers by stopping sales of its Lego-inspired kit, Twinscan EXE:5000. According to a statement issued by the company, the decision was made because of an unprecedented number of orders from external parties, including individuals who are not employees of ASML.

The Twinscan EXE:5000 kit, which contains 851 Lego elements, was initially available for purchase for anyone who wanted to try their hand at creating a miniature lithography system. However, ASML has now decided to limit sales exclusively to its employees in an effort to manage demand and maintain a fair and equal access to the kit for its own staff.

A summary of the reasoning behind this decision is as follows:

* High demand
* Lack of internal resources to fulfill customer orders
* Fairness and equal access for employees
