The latest release of postmarketOS, a Linux distribution designed for smartphones and mobile devices, has been published. This release includes several significant updates and new features.
**Newly Added Devices**
PostmarketOS 24.12 adds support for the Google Pixel 3A and devices on the Qualcomm MSM8953 platform, including the Xiaomi Mi A1, Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, and Xiaomi Redmi S2/Y2.
Additionally, the release includes more than 200 devices in the "testing" category, with varying levels of support ranging from the ability to boot to near-full functionality. Notably, the Fairphone 5 and Amlogic TV devices are now supported.
**Generic x64 UEFI Port**
The Generic x64 UEFI port, which enables postmarketOS to be installed on ordinary PCs and laptops, has been updated to include support for the open-source Nouveau driver on NVIDIA GPUs and the Intel GPU firmware.
**Synced Package Base**
The package base has been synchronized with Alpine Linux 3.21.
**KDE Plasma Mobile Update**
The KDE Plasma Mobile shell has been updated to version 6.2.4, previously version 6.0.3. A new dialer interface has been introduced.
