South Korea's industry and academia have proposed a plan to establish the 'Korea Semiconductor Manufacturing Company' (KSMC), a Korean version of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), to strengthen the domestic semiconductor industry ecosystem. The proposed KSMC aims to invest 300 million billion won to create a world-class semiconductor manufacturing hub in Korea, similar to TSMC's success in Taiwan. If implemented, KSMC could potentially become the 'Guardian of the Semiconductor Mountain' for Korea, securing the country's position in the global semiconductor industry.
