Contrary to the misinformation circulating online, which claims that the prevalence of adolescent depression has reached 15-20%, a senior official from the Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention explained that such claims are baseless and stem from unscientific surveys that rely on simplistic questionnaires and lacking standard diagnostic tools. In fact, some of these online surveys even confuse emotional states, symptomatology, and disease concepts, making it difficult to draw accurate conclusions.
