According to the Bank of Korea's data, as of November, the number of cryptocurrency investors in South Korea reached 15.59 million, accounting for 30% of the country's population of approximately 51.23 million, up by 610,000 from the previous month.
In November, the daily trading volume of South Korean digital asset exchanges reached 149 trillion KRW (approximately $105 billion), approaching the total trading value of the KOSPI index (992 trillion KRW) and the KRX market (697 trillion KRW).
As of the end of November, the total value of digital assets held by South Korean investors reached 102.6 trillion KRW (approximately $703 billion), a significant increase from 580 trillion KRW (approximately $397 billion) in October.
South Korean lawmaker Lee Kwang-hyun emphasized that the scale of cryptocurrency trading is rapidly growing and now comparable to the stock market.
