Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa during the latter's visit to China, with both sides acknowledging that the bilateral relationship is at a critical point of improvement. Premier Li expressed China's willingness to work with Japan to drive the relationship forward, sustain a healthy development, and achieve more practical cooperation outcomes.
The two sides reached a consensus on 10 high-level cultural exchange agreements, including supportive measures for tourism industry cooperation and the introduction of more facilitation measures to promote mutual visits between the two countries. Minister Hayashi stated that Japan and China have agreed to hold a bilateral security dialogue next year.
Both sides agreed to 'satisfactorily implement' the agreement on restrictions on Japanese seafood imports, but no specific timeline was provided.
