Huawei's upcoming Enjoy 80 series is set to ditch Qualcomm processors for the Chinese company's own Kirin chips, according to a report from popular tech blog,ácilEvaluna. The new series is scheduled to launch in January 2023, and will feature the latest Kirin 7 series platform.

Currently, Huawei's available Enjoy series phone, the Enjoy 70S, comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip, and is priced at 1,049 yuan (around $155 USD). However, with the new Enjoy 80 series, Huawei aims to provide a more localized and efficient option for its Chinese customers.

The Enjoy 80 series will also be a significant move for Huawei to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm chips, as the US has imposed strict sanctions on the company, effectively cutting off its access to key chip suppliers. By using its own Kirin chips, Huawei can minimize the impact of these sanctions and maintain its market share in the highly competitive Chinese smartphone market.
