The recently released fifth National Economic Census in China has provided a comprehensive overview of the country's industrial and service sectors, accurately depicting the country's economic and social development. According to the census results, by the end of 2023, there were a total of 33.27 million industrial and service enterprises in China, marking a significant increase of 52.7% compared to 2018. The number of employed personnel in these sectors reached 428.984 million, up 11.9% from the previous census. The number of individual business owners stood at 87.95 million, with 179.564 million employees. The census has fulfilled its objectives in comprehensively compiling data on China's industrial and service sectors, making it an invaluable resource for policymakers and businesses alike.
