**Google's Identity Check Feature: What You Need to Know**

Google is rolling out a new feature called Identity Check, which aims to improve the security of Android devices by requiring biometric authentication for sensitive actions. This feature was announced last week and is now available on certain devices.

**What does Identity Check do?**

When Identity Check is enabled, biometric authentication (such as fingerprint or facial recognition) will be required for the following actions:

* Accessing saved passwords and passkeys with Google Password Manager
* Autofill passwords in apps from Google Password Manager, except in Chrome
* Changing the screen lock (PIN, pattern, or password)
* Changing biometrics (Fingerprint or Face Unlock)
* Running a factory reset
* Turning off Find My Device
* Turning off any theft protection features
* Viewing trusted places
* Turning off Identity Check
* Setting up a new device with your current device
* Adding or removing a Google Account
* Accessing Developer options
* Changing your password from account settings or through
