# Software & Tools

## Background
LocalSend is a file transfer tool that is free, open-source, and cross-platform. It allows for quick transfer of videos, files, and photos over the same network, making it highly efficient.

## Perplexity
Perplexity is an AI search tool that has fast search speeds and clear references. It can quickly answer questions and provides a curated daily feed of information, which I frequently check. The discovery page is also well-done, and it often provides selected information. Similar to browsing Wikipedia's featured articles, I also frequently visit Perplexity for its curated content.

## Small Red Book
Small Red Book is a platform I've been using heavily since this year. It solves many search scenarios and provides strong timeliness. I often need to learn new skills, but I couldn't find clear tutorials. I post notes and associate relevant tags, and I'm frequently assisted by helpful users who respond within minutes.

## Immersive Translation Plugin
The immersive translation plugin is a browser extension available on both desktop and mobile (Kiwi for Android). It allows for fast translation of content such as news articles, videos, blogs, and web pages. This helps me quickly decide whether to read an article in-depth or not.

## Obsidian Web Clipper
The Obsidian Web Clipper is a browser extension that allows for highlight and saving of web content. I use this tool in conjunction with Obsidian, which I've been using for years. This extension helps me save and highlight web content more efficiently than my previous tool, MarkDownload.

## Kindle Oasis 2
I own multiple e-reader devices, including the Kindle Oasis 2, Kindle Paperwhite 3, and BOOX Poke 3. I chose the Kindle Oasis 2 for its physical buttons and its ability to remain in standby mode for a longer duration.
