A test mule of the upcoming Tesla Model Y Juniper has been spotted on the streets of California, revealing potential design changes to the electric vehicle's rear end. The leaked photos show a new design for the rear diffuser, which may feature a more subtle and horizontal LED strip. However, it is unclear if this design will make it to production.

In a separate video, a rainy day test showed that the new Model Y Juniper has a softer suspension compared to the current model. This could be a significant improvement, addressing one of the major complaints about the current Model Y – its firm ride quality. Other improvements expected in the Juniper model include a more powerful electric motor, larger battery, and the introduction of the Cybertruck's HW4 hardware and 48V low-voltage system.

Production of the Model Y Juniper is expected to start at Tesla's Shanghai Super Factory in 2025. The upgraded model promises to deliver a smoother and more refined driving experience, making it a formidable opponent in the competitive electric vehicle market.
