According to the latest update from Xiaomi's official channel, the new regulation for device unlocking and eligibility in 2025 has come into effect. As of January 1, 2025, users who have applied for the device unlocking program will be allowed to bind only one device during the validity period.

The new regulation aims to combat the practice of device reselling and ensure that users do not exploit the system by binding multiple devices. This move is part of Xiaomi's strategy to promote fair use and prevent abuse.

In related news, Xiaomi's CEO, Lu Weibing, announced that the company will invest 30 billion yuan (approximately 4.4 billion USD) in research and development in 2024, surpassing the 24 billion yuan spent in 2023. This shows Xiaomi's commitment to innovation and improving its products.

Lu Weibing also emphasized Xiaomi's high-end strategy, expecting a 43% year-over-year growth in global high-end smartphone sales in 2024. Xiaomi has successfully established its presence in the premium segment, and its next goal is to break through the 6,000 yuan price barrier.
