A recent post on the social platform Maimai revealed that Xiaomi has been requiring employees to work a minimum of 11.5 hours per day, with those who work less than 8 hours required to provide an explanation. Employees who fall behind in the ranking system may be called in for a talk or even fired. Some employees have reported that even if they work more than 12 hours, they may still be called in for a talk if their ranking is low. Moreover, some employees have stated that taking a day off may result in not meeting the daily work hour requirement and having to make up for it. Even contract workers have been threatened with termination if they fail to meet the 11-hour daily work requirement. Xiaomi has yet to respond to these allegations.
