California Governor Gavin Newsom has taken a strong stance against former President Donald Trump, stating that he must resign from office. Newsom made the comments on social media platform X, where he emphasized that Trump has created a crisis and is exacerbating the situation. If Trump is unable to resolve the issue, Newsom declared, "we will take matters into our own hands." The governor also addressed threats of violence, stating that such behavior is unacceptable and will be met with arrest and prosecution. Law enforcement officials will be held accountable for their actions. However, Newsom emphasized that Trump needs to step down and resign from office. In response to a threat of arrest from Trump's border officials, Newsom defiantly stated, "bring it on, I'm not afraid." The confrontation between Newsom and Trump's administration comes as the White House's border affairs director, Raul Ortiz, warned that local officials who continue to oppose federal immigration enforcement actions in the Los Angeles area may face arrest and prosecution for "harboring undocumented immigrants" and "obstructing law enforcement."
