AMD has recently introduced its first Ultra Ethernet-ready network card, the Pensando Pollara 400GbE. This cutting-edge technology is designed to work in large AI and HPC clusters, providing a throughput of up to 400 Gbps. According to AMD, this new innovation outperforms solutions from Nvidia and Broadcom by 10-20% in RDMA tasks, and by up to 25% when using new technologies for traffic balancing and management compared to RoCEv2. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is one of the first clients to adopt this technology, planning to deploy the Instinct MI350X graphics processors and Pensando Pollara 400GbE network cards in the second half of 2025.
