Google has recently initiated a limited testing phase for its new feature, Audio Overviews, which utilizes AI to generate audio responses directly on the search results page. When users conduct a search query, they can now listen to a brief podcast: a generated dialogue between two hosts discussing the topic. The audio is created within 30-40 seconds and is embedded in the search results through a mini-player, accompanied by links to the sources used. This feature is powered by the language model Gemini, which was previously applied in projects such as NotebookLM and Daily Listen. However, it is essential to note that this feature is currently only available in the United States and is limited to the English language. As Google continues to refine and improve its services, it will be interesting to see how Audio Overviews evolves and becomes a more integral part of the search experience.
