Intel's upcoming Nova Lake-S platform has been revealed to feature an updated memory controller that supports DDR5-8000 memory with a 1DPC 1R configuration, where each channel has one single-rank DIMM. This platform is expected to offer up to 48 PCIe lanes, including 24 PCIe 5.0 lanes from the CPU, 4 DMI lanes, 8 PCIe 5.0 lanes, and 16 PCIe 4.0 lanes from the chipset. Additionally, it will provide support for 8 SATA III ports and an expanded USB setup, including 14 USB 2.0, 10 USB 3.2 Gen1, 10 USB 3.2 Gen2, and 5 USB 3.2 Gen2x2 ports. The enhanced memory controller and increased PCIe lanes are expected to provide improved performance and flexibility for users who require high-speed storage and data transfer capabilities.
