As of June 28, 2023, China has prohibited the use of power banks without the 3C (China Compulsory Certificate) mark on domestic and possibly transit flights. This certification became mandatory in 2024. Additionally, devices that participated in mass recalls of Amprius, Anker, Romoss, Baseus, and other brands due to the risk of spontaneous combustion are also under the ban. Passengers risk losing unverified devices during security checks. Airports have designated areas for the disposal or temporary storage of such power banks. If you plan to travel through China, please check the 3C mark and the status of your power bank model in advance.
