US President Donald Trump has considered breaking up NVIDIA to promote competition in the AI chip market, but was informed that it would be 'very difficult.' He made the statement during a visit to Washington for an AI summit, where he initially thought it would be 'easy to break up' the company, but later realized that 'it's not easy in this industry.'

According to reports, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang had previously met with Trump. During the summit, Trump praised Huang and NVIDIA's achievements in the AI field, mentioning that the company had recently been allowed to resume selling its H20 AI chips to China, which had been frozen by the Trump administration. Huang also praised Trump's approach to promoting AI development.

At the summit, Trump also unveiled his 'AI Action Plan,' which aims to support the industry by reducing regulatory burdens.
