Microsoft's Copilot+ PC has recently introduced the Recall feature, which allows users to recall and redo actions. However, this feature has raised concerns about user privacy, as it can automatically capture screenshots without the user's consent. Following the footsteps of Signal, Brave and AdGuard have also blocked the Recall feature to prevent it from recording sensitive user information. Brave has announced that it will default to disabling Recall for Windows 11 and above users, while allowing them to manually enable it. Signal had previously blocked Recall in May, citing the lack of fine-grained privacy controls provided by Microsoft for developers. Brave has called on Microsoft to provide similar control options for all developers who prioritize user privacy. The Recall feature is currently only available on Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon X processors, and Microsoft has not provided a timeline for when it will be available on Intel and AMD-based devices.
