At the MADE exhibition, Ogle Component Design showcased how 3D printing is transforming the way bicycles are designed and manufactured. Josh Ogle, the mastermind behind the project, has created a titanium full-suspension mountain bike with a unique frame design that incorporates intricate details, from Japanese graffiti to miniature warning labels printed directly onto the tubes. In collaboration with Firefly Bicycles, Ogle worked on the V1 prototype, featuring a Ministry 3VO suspension system and a 150mm rear shock. The frame was printed on Silca Velo 3D printers, allowing for complex graphic accents and integrated functional elements such as mounts and protective components. The Firefly bike was showcased with a Shimano XTR Di2 transmission. Ogle Component Design is preparing two more prototypes and has opened a waiting list for customers interested in the production version.
