Apple is reportedly considering skipping the release of iPhone 19 in 2027 and instead launching iPhone 20 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone. According to industry analyst Heo Moo-Yeol from Omdia, Apple might release new iPhone models in 2027, including iPhone 20, without releasing iPhone 19.

This decision would be similar to the one made in 2017, when Apple released iPhone X to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the first iPhone, instead of releasing iPhone 9.

The analyst predicts that Apple will release iPhone 18e and iPhone 20 in the first half of 2027, followed by iPhone 20 Air, iPhone 20 Pro, iPhone 20 Pro Max, and a second-generation foldable iPhone Fold in the second half of the year.

The move to skip iPhone 19 would be a significant departure from Apple's traditional naming convention, but it would also be a nod to the company's history and a celebration of its 20th anniversary in the smartphone market.
