A team of computer repair experts from Northridge Fix has criticized the design of Nvidia's RTX 5090 Founders Edition graphics card, citing its fragile structure and difficulty in repair. The experts pointed out that the card's modular dual-board design features a critical FPC connector that is prone to damage, rendering the entire card unusable if it is damaged. The repair team expressed concerns that the design is overly complex and lacks replaceable components, making it nearly impossible to repair. In contrast, older single-board graphics cards are considered more stable and easier to maintain. The repair team advises users to exercise caution when upgrading or installing water cooling systems, stating that the older design is more reliable.
