The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has announced that it will impose an export ban on Nexperia, a Dutch semiconductor company, effective October 4th. This decision comes after the Dutch government took control of the company. According to the Ministry, the Dutch government's intervention in the company's internal affairs has caused chaos in the global supply chain. China, as a responsible major country, has taken into account the domestic and international stability of the supply chain and welcomes enterprises that encounter actual difficulties to contact the Ministry of Commerce or local commerce authorities in a timely manner. The Ministry will consider the actual situation of the enterprises and grant exemptions to those that meet the conditions for export. Nexperia is actively communicating with Chinese authorities to seek exemptions from these restrictions and has deployed all available resources to mitigate the impact of this measure. The company is also in close communication with all relevant national and local government departments to minimize the effects of this decision.
