During his visit to South Korea, Chinese President Xi Jinping and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol exchanged gifts. Xi Jinping presented Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife with a Samsung flagship curved phone and a set of traditional Chinese writing instruments. Yoon Suk-yeol jokingly asked Xi Jinping about the phone's security features, to which Xi Jinping replied by asking Yoon Suk-yeol to check if the phone had any backdoors. The two leaders laughed together.

Yoon Suk-yeol, in turn, gifted Xi Jinping with a high-end wooden chessboard and a traditional Korean circular lacquerware plate. According to the South Korean presidential office, South Korea had previously gifted Xi Jinping with a set of Go stones during his visit 11 years ago, and the circular lacquerware plate symbolizes the hope for a long-lasting friendship between the two countries.
