Google has reintroduced the expandable location indicator feature in Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1, allowing users to view specific applications that are accessing their location. This feature was previously tested in Android 13 but not officially released. In the new version, the location indicator uses a blue background to distinguish it from the green camera and microphone reminders, and the privacy dialog box accurately lists the names of applications accessing the location. This feature provides users with more transparency and control over their location data. The test version has been rolled out to Pixel devices equipped with Tensor chips. The introduction of this feature is a step towards improving user privacy and security in Android devices.
