ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, is reportedly in talks with several hardware manufacturers, including Vivo, Lenovo, and Transsion, to develop AI-powered smartphones. The collaboration aims to pre-install AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Generated Content) plugins on these devices, creating a new revenue stream for the company. According to sources, Vivo has confirmed its participation in the project, and the two companies are currently discussing the details of the revenue-sharing model. ByteDance has internally emphasized the importance of this project, with a team of over 1,000 people working on it. This move comes after Vivo failed to secure a deep partnership with Tencent due to cost and commercialization issues. ByteDance has clarified that it has no plans to develop its own smartphones, and the collaboration will focus on mid-range devices, with a primary target market being overseas. The partnership is expected to expand ByteDance's presence in the global smartphone market and create new opportunities for the company to monetize its content and services.
