TikTok has signed a deal with US investors, including Oracle, Silver Lake, and Abu Dhabi's sovereign fund MGX, to create a joint venture. The joint venture, named TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC, will be majority-owned by US investors, with Oracle, Silver Lake, and MGX each holding a 15% stake. ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, will retain a 19.9% stake, while existing investors associated with ByteDance will hold a 30.1% stake. The joint venture will be managed by a 7-member board, with a majority of US directors responsible for protecting US user data, ensuring algorithm security, and overseeing content moderation. The deal aims to comply with US laws and regulations, allowing over 170 million US users to continue using the platform. The transaction is expected to be completed by January 22, 2026.
