I recently discovered that I am 2 months pregnant and am starting to plan for the second major event in my life. I would like to seek my elders' opinions and guidance. Current Background: My wife is unemployed and has not been able to find a job due to lack of social insurance. I have been working in Hangzhou for 1.5 years and my wife has been working for 2 years, but neither of us has been able to earn a social insurance allowance. We have duel urban-rural health insurance. We are considering where to give birth and the pros and cons of each location. Hangzhou has good medical environment, but the cost of healthcare is high. Changsha has a better medical environment compared to the county, but it is far from our current location and may be inconvenient in an emergency. County hospital is close to our hometown, but the medical facilities are relatively backward and may not be suitable for pregnant women. I hope to have a private delivery room and to have my family members receive supportive care. I also need advice on whether it is necessary to hire a nanny after delivery, and how much it may cost. I would also like to know about the delivery process and estimated costs from pregnancy to postpartum care. Considering buying a house in Changsha next year, I need to plan for the expenses. The most optimal plan is to go back to my hometown during the National Day holiday, finish the necessary check-ups in Hangzhou, and then give birth in Changsha. Views and suggestions are welcome.
