While working at a small-scale software company, I recently received a notification stating that employees were no longer allowed to use pirated software. As a Java developer, I was informed that we could only use the community version of IntelliJ IDEA, which is severely limited in its capabilities. Many of my colleagues were left with no choice but to purchase the licensed version of the software at their own expense. I inquired about this phenomenon among my friends and discovered that it's rare for companies to provide legitimate copies of software for production use. It got me wondering, why do companies struggle to procure genuine licenses for their software?
