I've been collecting software and chat logs since I started using computers, and over the years, I've had to upgrade my hard drive twice. However, yesterday, my hard drive suddenly crashed, and I couldn't access it even after restarting my computer multiple times. I've tried swapping the circuit board with another similar one, but it didn't work either, and I'm left with no choice but to repair it myself.
My plan is to replace the faulty circuit board with a new one and then use a programmer to copy the faulty ROM into the new one. I've already purchased the required components, including the ROM chip. However, I couldn't find any online resources or tutorials that can guide me through this process.
I'm not interested in sending my hard drive to a professional repair center as I've had a bad experience with their expensive repair services in the past. My current approach seems to be the only viable option, but it's a long shot.
In addition to repairing my hard drive, I'll also purchase a new one to transfer my data as I'm concerned that my current hard drive might fail completely at any moment.
