Recently, I experienced a series of symptoms: fever, cough, lethargy, and excessive thirst after recovering from a bout of COVID-19. I thought I had overcome the worst of it. However, my relief was short-lived. Upon waking up one morning, I discovered that both my ears were filled with a strange, gushing sensation, accompanied by severe hearing loss. I struggled to make out what my colleagues were saying at work. I immediately visited a nearby hospital for an ear checkup, but the doctor found no obvious signs of inflammation. They diagnosed me with post-COVID tinnitus and prescribed a mix of traditional and herbal medicines, advising me to follow up in a week. After conducting some online research, I was shocked to find that many people experience similar symptoms after recovering from COVID-19, with some even reporting permanent hearing loss. I am unsure if I will be able to recover my hearing completely. Have any fellow COVID-19 survivors experienced similar issues? How long did it take for your symptoms to subside? Should I consult a larger hospital for further evaluation?
